State of Missouri Implements Green Cleaning in Schools

The State of Missouri became the third state after New York and Illinois to require green cleaning in schools. The ‘Healthy Schools Campaign’ is a national movement geared toward protecting children’s health with green cleaning. State leaders including Governor Matt Blunt support the campaign and signed the bill which passed on July 11th, 2008. Green cleaning advocate Gary Walker says; “ After  I witnessed New York and Illinois take action, it encouraged me to do the right thing with the hope that it would spread to the rest of the country…I wanted momentum that would encourage the rest of the nation to remove toxic chemicals in schools”.
